ENGAGE: I’m ready now what?

Am I ready to start engaging with research?

If you have reached your third or fourth year in your program, this is the perfect time to engage with research. If you still don’t know what areas interest you the most or you still haven’t found a supervisor, you might want to check out our resources on getting started with research and connecting with a supervisor.

If you already have an idea for a research project and a supervisor who is willing to help you through your own adventure, then you’re in the right place! A great place to start is to learn more about research ethics & integrity – these are foundational resources that will help ensure the research you do is ethical and will help you prepare for ethics reviews when you are ready to secure funding for your project!

I’m ready to start engaging with research. What do I do now?

If you have an idea for a research project, a faculty supervisor, and an understanding of integrity and ethics in the context of research, you are ready to submit a research proposal! Luckily for you, we had a team of students who went through this whole process themselves create resources to help you through the necessary steps. Feel free to explore our resources on conducting literature reviews, creating a research question, and writing a research proposal.
